OpenOffice.org 3.1 Software Development Kit (SDK)
The OpenOffice.org SDK is an add-on for the OpenOffice.org office suite. It provides the necessary tools and documentation for programming the OpenOffice.org APIs and creating own extensions (UNO components) for OpenOffice.org.
What's new in OpenOffice.org 3.1 SDK?
- Tools no longer need a LD_LIBRARY_PATH
All tools should now work without a LD_LIBRARY_PATH. That might be of help for some people who use the tools in their own environment. - Examples
Not all examples are working on Mac currently. There is an issue with awt in the office with the Mac Java version. That means that it is not possible to use Java awt with OpenOffice.org on Mac OS right now.
The Instance Inspector example is removed because of major code changes and a shift into a NetBeans project. That allows easier maintenance for us and of course it is easier to use the example, to browse through the code, debug it and more. You can find the Object Inspector in the OpenOffice.org wiki. - API's
The OpenOffice.org API covers now 4128 UNO IDL type definitions. For OpenOffice.org 3.1 we have introduced 262 new UNO IDL types (whereas 25 are new published types). In this version 15 unpublished types are removed. Please see "Overview of new API's" for a roughly overview of the new types.
The UNO IDL reference documentation gets improved by inserting missing or correct existing documentation as well by fixing errors in our autodoc tool that is used for the generation of the reference.
The C++ and Java UNO runtime reference documention is also updated.
