• At this time there are two cTAKES versions delivered; cTAKES is distributed as cTAKES1.2.1 and icTAKES is distributed as cTAKES1.2.2. cTAKES (1.2.1) follows the 1.1 install mechanism and icTAKES (1.2.2) integrates all cTAKES components and the underlying UIMA framework.
• New annotator (beta version), SideEffect, which extracts physician-asserted drug side effects from clinical notes.
• There were fixes requiring updates to the core, Drug NER, smoking status, and dictionary lookup projects.
