The below report shows the general utilization and flow of the continuous integration services at the ASF.

Build utilization versus bottlenecking:

Generally speaking, the higher the bottlenecking, the less a CI system can be utilized to its full capacity or gauged for whether more capacity is needed, while, conversely, a low bottleneck factor would indicate the build utilization can be more accurately sized up. Four basic scenarios:

• High build utilization, low bottleneck factor: CI systems are at or near capacity, but builds are running on time.
• High build utilization, high bottleneck factor: CI systems are over capacity, builds are queuing up.
• Low build utilization, low bottleneck factor: CI systems are under capacity (spare build nodes), and builds are running on time.
• Low build utilization, high bottleneck factor: CI systems COULD be at capacity, but build dependencies prevent full utilization.

Please keep in mind, that some projects have donated build nodes, and may therefore display as using a disproportionally large number of resources, while they may in reality be using very litle if any of our shared resources.
