What makes me tick?

Web crawling, NoSQL and data persistence, object mapping. Initially having nurtured an interest for building search architectures, I've built on that interest and now develop and test technology stacks which integrate the above layers focusing on big data and moving towards big data analytics.

What brings me to ApacheCon EU 2012?

Well speaking from a more abstract pov I've really enjoyed being part of the ASF for a number of years now. I was lucky enough to attend ApacheCon NA 2011 in Vancouver and had an excellent buzz not only meeting likeminded folks but also meeting friends and making new ones. In November you will find me mostly in the big data, cloud, linked data and NoSQL db tracks as well as doing my shift on the ASF stand as well. Did I mention I also like going to Germany and drinking all thier beer!!!

What can I offer to the conference

The last year has been rather full on in terms of development drive and aiming for releases within the Nutch, Gora and Any23 communities. We recently announced the launch of Apache Nutch 2.0 which builds on Apache Gora 0.2. I really hope to get the show off the technology to others who it could be useful to. Finally ApacheCon is the best possible place on earth to build out the communities therefore this will be top on my agenda without a doubt.
