Sharad heads the Technology platform group where he leads the development of hadoop and big data platforms at InMobi. He is a Apache Hadoop PMC member and is active in hadoop community for over 4 years. He has been involved with Hadoop Next Generation (YARN) since it was in concept stage. He is the author of YARN core runtime libraries and Map-Reduce Application Master.
Sharad is the organizer of Hadoop meetup group in Bangalore, India. He is also Apache Avro committer and worked on Avro during its early days. Prior to joining InMobi Sharad was Principal Engineer at Yahoo. Earlier he worked on search platforms and several middleware technologies at AOL and Oracle. Sharad holds Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
