We had a fabulous four days in Sinsheim, and everyone seemed to enjoy the conference. Now we are gearing up for ApacheCon NA.
Slides were captured for almost all sessions. The raw slide captures are available here, and we're working to link them into the schedule to make it easier to browse / find the ones that interest you.
Likewise, the audio of the speakers were captured for most sessions. These need a bit of work though, to edit levels, remove gaps at the start and end etc. These are being posted to FeatherCast as they're done, or you can browse the raw list here
A small number of sessions were videod. We expect to have these online by around the start of December.
The German Railway system has an excellent web site, which allows use in many languages. As there are several Sinsheims in German you should make sure you select the correct station. If you want to book on the Internet you should print your ticket and take the credit card used to book with you. You can also buy tickets from the machines at any station—they are multilingual. Choose the DB button to get the fast train and the best connections.
If you are staying at the Hotel Sinsheim your closest station is Sinsheim Museum/Arena. Coming down from the platform you should walk up a long walk with a large building on your right, then turn right. Walk about 200m, and the Hotel Sinsheim is on your left.
For Hotel Bär you should aim for the Sinsheim(Elsenz) station, which is only 700m from the hotel. Coming out of the station, turn right three times, then you're on Freidrichstrasse. Bear left to continue along the Freidrichstarsse. Hotel Bär will be visible as you walk along the road.
This being a community event, you are encouraged to "build your own conference" around the scheduled sessions. There are many opportunities to do so. Take a look at the ApacheMeetupsEU12 wiki page, and feel free to add your own activities and suggestions!

This name has been chosen to indicate that this conference is of a less formal nature, and unlike other ApacheCons you may have attended is focused more on the Apache developer community. This is an ideal conference for you if you are interested in becoming a developer on an Apache project, or already are one.
After an absence of several years, the Apache Software Foundation is pleased to announce that ApacheCon is returning to Europe in 2012! ApacheCon Europe 2012 will be held between the 5th and 8th of November, at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena in Sinsheim, Germany.
ApacheCons are community events, run by the developers involved in the Apache Software Foundation, for all the developers out there building on top of ASF software! The conference covers a wide range of topics, from Cloud to Big Data, from Content to Servers, Search to Store, Business and Tools. The schedule has now been published, and for an overview idea of what it being covered please see the Tracks Page for more information.
The ASF has produced a range of graphics speakers and others can use to publicize ApacheCon and the talks. Full details are on the Help Publicize ApacheCon page. Add one or more to your blog, put a link in your email sig, and so on!

ApacheCons are community events, run by the wider Apache Software Foundation community for the benefit of the community of developers and users out there building on top of ASF software! As part of this, we welcome involvement from the wider community in putting on the event.
The first way to get involved is to speak at the conference. Unfortunately we have now closed the Call for Papers, so that will have to wait until next year.
