If you need a tool to pull out some content (and use it) from several Microsoft Office formats documents, Apache POI is what you'd love to find out. If you need to get some content out of your silos and supply your users with a clean, polished and globally adopted format, Apache POI would be fit for your need. The Apache POI project provides Open Source Java APIs for the manipulation of Microsoft Office format files, such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Both for OLE2 Compound Document format and Office Open XML (OOXML) format. This session will be focussed on presenting the adoption of Apache POI among projects and vendors in the Content Management industry. After an introduction on the most important peculiarities of the project, the audience will be driven through a number of short demonstrations clearly highlighting Apache POI exploitation.
