A **Math** az Apache OpenOffice képletszerkesztője. Leggyakrabban szöveges 
dokumentumokban előforduló képletek, egyenletek megszerkesztésére 
használatos, de más dokumentumtípusokkal és önmagában is használható. 

A **Writer**-en belül használva az egyenlet egy önálló, szöveges dokumentumba 
ágyazott objektumként viselkedik. Hasonlóképpen beilleszthetők ezek az objektumok 
más OpenOffice programba is, mint például a [Calc][1] és [Impress][2].

A **Math** három fő eljárást biztosít a képletbeírásra:

- Jelölőnyelv segítségével az egyenletszerkesztőben
- Az egyenletszerkeszőben történő jobb kattintással és a szimbólum helyi menüből való kiválasztásával
- A szimbólum *Képletelemek* eszközpanelből való kiválasztásával
