This calendar lists the major holidays honored by Sun Microsystems in several countries. It is, at present, but a start; if anyone has additions to this list, please send them to louis@openoffice.org.

Notes

Holidays held in common by all are mentioned only in English.

Ireland: Irish holidays honored by Sun Microsystems if not by Ireland (Éire) or Northern Ireland are featured.

"Squeeze Holidays": If a holiday falls in the middle of the week, it is not unusual for employees to take one of their vacation days on the day adjacent to the official holiday and tending toward to the weekend.
