If you're still having problems ...
If a combination of reading through these tutorial pages and the other Jena documentation doesn't help you, you have a few choices for getting further help:
- Firstly, don't be afraid to experiment! If you're not quite sure "what would happen if ...", then throw together a quick test program and try it out! Being playful and experimental is a good way to find your feet with a new technology.
- Second tip is to try side-stepping complexity. If, for example, you're having difficulty getting the right results from a SPARQL query embedded in a JSP page, try moving the query code to a separate class. Get that working (and write some test cases for it!). Then get a simple JSP page working. Then, having solved two simpler problems, put them together.
- Third tip is: if you're working on a college or university course, or doing a homework assignment, then do ask your teaching staff (professors, lecturers, TA's, etc). That's what they're paid for, and they're expecting you to ask them questions.
- Fourth option: ask a question on the Jena users support list. Most of the Jena developers monitor that list, as do many experienced members of the Jena community. Please do read the tips on how to ask a support question.
