Debugging

string _`debug_dump` ( mixed *$val* )
`````````````````````````````````````
Returns a string that shows human readable debug information about the given value *$val*.
This function should only be used for debugging purposes during development
of your templates. The next example shows the contents of a variable::

    {var $a = array( "Bernard" => "Black", "Manny", 42 )}
    {debug_dump( $a )}

Outputs::

    array (
      'Bernard' => 'Black',
      0 => 'Manny',
      1 => 42,
    )
