StockTrader 2.0 is a sample SOA enterprise application, consisting of three separate parts linked seamlessly with Web services. The three parts of the application are:

• End-user Client: This application interacts with a user to monitor market conditions a portfolio of stocks and initiate transactions.
• Business Service: This service manages a user's stock portfolio.
• Order Processing Service: This service is called by the business service when a stock trade is to be executed. It simulates an interface to a stock market electronic trading system.

Each of these components has been implemented on a variety of platforms, demonstrating broad platform interoperability of advanced Web services, in particular message-level security provided by WS-Security.
