1.
From the menu bar, select File - New - Text Document.
2. A new text document should be launched.
3. From the menu bar, select Insert - Footnote.
4.
The Insert Footnote dialog should be launched.
5.
Select the search icon within the Insert Footnote dialog.
6.
The Special Characters dialog should be launched.
7.
Select cancel on the Special Characters dialog.
8.
Click ok on the Footnote dialog, a footnote area should be inserted at the bottom of the page.
9. Close the text document.
