1.
From the menu bar, select File - New - Templates and Documents.

The Templates and Documents dialog should be launched.
3.
Ensure there are four icons in the left most panel of the dialog, showing
NewDocument, Templates, My Documents and Samples.
4. Select New Document in the left most panel
of the Templates and Documents dialog .
5.
Select Text Document in the centre panel of the Templates and Documents
dialog .
6. Select Open in the Templates and Documents
dialog
7.
A new text document should be launched.
8. Close the text document.
