In its first National Meeting, on June 2, 2006, through a video conference link connecting over 20 Brazilian states and Canada, the BrOffice.org project (what OpenOffice.org is called in Brazil, for trademark reasons) showed once more the power of collaborative work.
Through the support of SENAI/CE, ITI, the Free Software Knowledge Community, the Legislative House of the State of Ceará and a large network of volunteers throughout Brazil, the First BrOffice.org National meeting proved the feasibility of large virtual meetings.... Balancing technical and strategical themes, the meeting presented a broad overview of the development of BrOffice.org and the future of the project.
