The code donated to Airavata was originally developed for the Linked Environments for Atmospheric Discovery Project by the Extreme Computing Lab at the Indiana University. The Open Gateways Computing Environment collaboration has fostered the software maintenance and enhancement. The Intellectual Property is transferred to Apache Software Foundation through the Software Grants Agreement executed on 8th February 2011 signed on behalf of the Trustees of Indiana University. The SGA is on file with Apache Software Foundation. 

The donated code is inherited by the Apache Airavata PMC and updated all code license headers and associated LICENSE and NOTICE files. 

The legacy donated code can be accessed in the public source repositories maintained by the OGCE project.
