move modperl 1.x trunk to a branches/1.x
can't test modperl w/o building Apache first PR: Obtained from: Submitted by: Todd Finney <tfinney@boygenius.com> Reviewed by:
- explain how perl has to be built in order to use DSO without problems (copied from the guide) based on email from Doug. PR: Obtained from: Submitted by: Reviewed by:
added a little clarification about PREP_HTTPD - which confused users. PR: Obtained from: Submitted by: Reviewed by:
Som example continuation lines were missing "\" at end, so they were added. Also inserted "make test" prior to make install, since that is good practice.
Make sure the user notices that APACI is a Unix-based solution and cannot be used in general under Win32.
Completely update INSTALL.apaci according to our recent changes. Look fine and the DSO stuff is declared as EXPERIMENTAL. Be conservative...
Although Doug has not added top-level Makefile.PL support for APXS (a "perl Makefile.PL USE_APXS=1" would be preferred) the stuff now works fine. So give the user at least a short into what the steps are.
Some adjustments: - fix typos - add more description of used options - etc.
Add detailed description of the Apache 1.3 + APACI support in a new document INSTALL.apaci (POD format, of course).
