Sidebar Window /text/shared/guide/sidebar_window.xhp Sidebar Sidebar Window The sidebar provides frequently used tools, grouped in decks. Click on a tab in the vertical tab bar to choose a deck. Tab Bar Configuration Menu Button Configuration Menu The drop-down list of the configuration menu button has two parts. Choose an item in the upper part of the list to switch between the currently available panel decks. To undock or dock the sidebar window use the Undock or Dock item respectively. Use the sub-list of the item Customization to enable or disable a deck or to restore the default configuration.
Deck Tabs Property deck The Properties deck provides panels for object formatting like font, background color, or object size. The content depends on the currently selected object. Styles and Formatting deck The Styles and Formatting deck contains the Styles and Formatting Styles and Formatting Styles and Formatting Styles and Formatting window. Gallery deck The Gallery deck contains the Gallery window. Navigator deck The Navigator deck contains the Navigator Navigator Navigator Navigator window. Function list deck The Functions deck contains the Function List window. This deck is only available for spreadsheets. Master Pages deck The Master Pages deck lists currently used, recently used, and available master pages. Right-click a master page thumbnail for a sub-menu to apply or edit the master page. This deck is only available for presentations. Custom Animation deck The Custom Animation deck provides tools to apply animation effects to presentation and graphic objects on your slide. This deck is only available for presentations. Slide Transition deck The Slide Transition deck provides tools to apply a special effect that plays when you display a slide. This deck is only available for presentations.
The sidebar is available in WRITER, CALC, IMPRESS, and DRAW application. Sidebar Window Handling The sidebar is a dockable window. However, you cannot dock it to the bottom or top edge of the working area but only to the left or right edge. The sensitive area for the Command-Ctrl-double-click method of docking is small, so make sure you click the sidebar window and not its content. In a docked sidebar window the Close Sidebar Deck button in the upper-right corner of the title area minimizes the current deck, but keeps the tab bar open. To reopen the deck click the corresponding tab or drag the sidebar window frame. To close the sidebar window completely uncheck Sidebar in the View menu. For decks with several panels click the panel title area to toggle between expanded and minimized state of the panel. The More Options button at the top-right of a panel title opens a dialog which provides additional settings. Not all panels have this feature.
