Only the current recommended releases are available on the main distribution site and its mirrors. Older releases are available from the archive download site.

cTAKES is distributed as both source and binary (ready-to-use) packages. These are available in zip and tar.gz formats.

Note: The tar.gz archives contain file names longer than 100 characters and have
been created using GNU tar extensions. It must be untarred with a GNU compatible version of tar.

Resources are required to run most of cTAKES.  They are available for download from SourceForge:
[ctakes-resources-3.2.1.1-bin.zip] [19].

Please download, unzip and add/merge the contents to the existing resources directory. Follow the [User] [20] or [Developer] [21] Install Guide to direct you through the installation process.

### Verifying Signatures
The md5, sha1 and asc files are signature files and can be used to verify the integrity of the
downloaded distribution package.

Use the following commands to verify the integrity:

* gpg --print-md MD5 fileName.zip
* gpg --print-md SHA1 fileName.tar.gz
* gpg --verify fileName.tar.gz.asc

It might be necessary to import the [KEYS file][23] file to verify the integrity
of the asc files.

That can be done with:

* gpg --import KEYS
