Welcome to Apache Chemistry

    Apache Chemistry is an effort to provide a Java (and possibly others,
    like JavaScript) implementation of the upcoming
    {{{http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/cmis}CMIS specification}},
    consisting of a high-level API for developers wanting to manipulate
    documents, a low-level SPI close to the CMIS protocol for developers
    wanting to implement a client or a server, and default implementations
    for all of the above. Chemistry aims to cover both the AtomPub and SOAP
    bindings defined by the CMIS specifications.

    Apache Chemistry is an effort undergoing
    {{{http://incubator.apache.org/}incubation}} at
    {{{http://www.apache.org}The Apache Software Foundation}} (ASF), sponsored
    by the {{{http://jackrabbit.apache.org/}Apache Jackrabbit}} project.
    Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further
    review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision
    making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other
    successful ASF projects. While incubation status is not necessarily
    a reflection of the completeness or stability of the code, it does
    indicate that the project has yet to be fully endorsed by the ASF.
